USDA loan
Also called: rural development loan, usda rural
A government-backed loan for eligible rural and suburban areas that can allow no down payment for qualifying borrowers.
USDA financing is limited by two tests: the property must sit within an eligible area on the published map, and household income must fall under the limit for that county and household size.
Eligible areas include more suburban edges than the word “rural” suggests, so the map is worth checking before ruling it out. Both tests must pass: a qualifying borrower in an ineligible location does not qualify.
