# Notice to vacate

Written notice that a tenancy will end, with a lead time set by the lease and by statute.

Either party may give notice under the terms of the lease and applicable law. Required lead time depends on the tenancy type and the reason.

Notice given the wrong way or with too little lead time frequently does not count, which can push an intended end date out by a full period.
