# MLS (Multiple Listing Service)

The cooperative database brokerages use to share listings and the source most consumer portals draw from.

The MLS distributes a listing to participating brokerages and, downstream, to the public portals buyers browse. Getting into it is how a listing reaches the broadest audience quickly.

Data accuracy matters more than most sellers expect, because errors propagate everywhere the feed reaches.
