# Due diligence

Also called: due diligence period, inspection period

The defined window after acceptance when a buyer investigates the property and can act on what they find.

Due diligence is when inspections happen, disclosures are reviewed, association documents are read, and any specialist evaluations are ordered. It is the buyer’s window to get informed.

It is bounded by dates in the contract. Once the period closes, the leverage it provided closes with it.
